Rabbit Holes

Bookshelves frame an open door.

Are you ready to follow us down?

At The Narrative Transformation Lab, we believe that good storytellers aren’t afraid to follow their curiosity.

The world of narrative and conflict transformation is vast. That’s why we’re developing a compendium of rabbit holes to take you down into the depths of even the most niche of narrative topics.

Each semester, we will add to this curated collection, highlighting the research interests of our team members.

And like every good rabbit hole, we aren’t sure where these ones will take us. The best way to find out is to follow us down.

The Many Lives and Meanings of “Bella Ciao”

How did an Italian women’s work song become a global resistance anthem?

Audrey Williams || April 12, 2023

Realist and yet still romantic painting of women mondine (rice patty workers) working in the rice fields. They wear late-nineteenth-century peasant dresses. Obe woman is resting her feet, others are working hunched over in the fields. Yet there is a serene air to this painting. A care is in the background, and the tableau is completed with a set of cows grazing nearby.
